DATA PROTECTION AND PRIVACY POLICY OF OUR SITE

SAFE AWAY-ASSISTED HOLIDAYS, LDA has in its implementation a Data Protection and Security System to ensure regulatory compliance in terms of data protection and information security. All technical requirements and organisational measures have been ensured to specifically comply with the legal policies concerning the General Regulation on Data Protection, applicable as from 25th May 2018.

 

ENTITY RESPONSIBLE FOR PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

SAFE AWAY – ASSISTED HOLIDAYS, LDA with their registered office on ESTRADA MONUMENTAL Nº 404, EDIFÍCIO JARDINS DO MAR, FRAÇÃO G, 9000-100 Funchal and with Tax ID nº 513501495 is the entity responsible for the application program “Safe Away”.

Safe Away ensures the privacy and security of all personal data processed in the use of this application, as the entity responsible for the respective handling of information, under the terms of this Data Protection and Privacy Policy.

 

THE TYPE OF INFORMATION COLLECTED

Your name and email will be required to create a personal account to use the application.

Within the scope of using the application and accessing Safe Away’s services, personal information may be requested, such as country of residence, telephone nº, address and other details.

Should you need to provide us with personal information to access a specific type of service provided, you will be made explicitly aware of how that information will be used.

The content of chat messages and phone calls made through the application will be recorded and stored as clinical records.

Minors under the age of 18 must obtain consent from their parents or guardians before making personal data available on our application.

 

DESTINATION OF INFORMATION

All personal information obtained will be recorded, used and protected under the current data protection legislation and this privacy policy, on services used besides Safe Away.

The information collected is used to execute the contract entered into by the customer, namely to transmit all necessary information to the health care providers involved.

Your email address may, if you agree, be used to send information regarding our services and promotions among other things.

 

DATA CONSERVATION DEADLINES

All personal data provided will be kept only for the period necessary for contractual purposes that led to its collection or its subsequent handling of, guaranteeing the fulfilment of all the applicable legal rules in terms of archiving and security. Recordings of chats and phone calls will be kept for a year.

 

ACCESS TO YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

All clients have the right to receive a copy of their personal information within 30 days of the request date, namely data which was collected and contained in their individual file, as well as any other entity which was given this information. This request should be made to info@safeaway.pt

The company reserves the right to charge a fee for administrative and IT costs for repeated requests.

 

ACCURACY AND PERMANENT UPDATE OF DATA

The data collected is rendered and checked by the data provider when formalising the provision of services contract. The data provider is obliged to provide truthful, accurate data and is responsible to immediately inform Safe Away of any changes to the data provided.

 

PROFESSIONAL CATEGORIES OF RECIPIENTS OF PERSONAL DATA

The information provided by the data provider is processed for the purpose executing the contractual relationship, including giving access to subcontracted entities, namely healthcare providers (public or private hospital, clinics, doctors and nurses).

 

THE RIGHT TO RECTIFY PERSONAL DATA

The data holder may amend his/her information at any time through the setting of his/her account or by contacting Safe Away directly by email info@safeaway.pt

 

THE RIGHT TO REQUEST THE DELETION OF PERSONAL DATA

The data holder may request, at any time, the deletion of any personal data provided. This right however, cannot be exercised during the execution of the contractual relationship, violating the legal agreement and preventing its execution. In order to make this request, the customer must send an email to info@safeaway.pt. Safe Away commits delete the data within 30 days, except for the clinical data registered on their platform, as required by law.

 

THE RIGHT TO TRANSFER DATA

The data holder can request that their personal data held by Safe Away be transmitted to another data controller, in a structured format, for general use and automatic reading. This data will be provided within 30 days of the request date.

 

COOKIES

In the Safe Away application, cookies are used, namely: Google Analytics to collect data essential to the app’s traffic statistics and cookies to store information, related to your personal preferences when using our application, allowing a faster and more efficient navigation.

 

SENDING PUSH NOTIFICATIONS

If you have selected the appropriate settings on your device, Safe Away can send push notifications to disclose updates or other relevant information. You can manage push notifications on the “Settings” page in the application or in your device’s settings.

The online privacy policy applies only to the information collected through our application and not to information collected offline or on our website.

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any changes to our Privacy Policy will be made known to you either through the application or by email.
